IRI-Day Habilitation Services

Day Habilitation like our In-Home Residential Services is available to any person eligible for or currently enrolled in the Home and Community Based Waiver. Grounded in the waiver philosophy, these services are designed to accommodate the desires and needs of those individuals within a specifically designated Day Habilitation Program. Hence while Day Habilitation Programs on the surface may look similar, the individuals who are supported by them determine what is included in the particular program. Some programs may involve more skill building supports involving homemaking skills and personal hygiene, while others take place completely in the neighborhoods where the participants live offering ‘work-like’ opportunities. In all cases Independence Residences’ Day Habilitation Programs foster community inclusion and are designed to enrich the interests or the people who benefit from them. We are developing more employment-related supports to meet the ever-increasing capabilities of those people we currently support and those who seek us out.
