Thus, a fully qualified and highly motivated member of IRI staff, forming a partnership with the person desiring support initiates the plan. Our staff discover that person's dreams and goals, and the special abilities that individual possesses. Independence, as define by our consumers, lies at the heart of what we do. Therefore, once this interview period is complete, IRI in full partnership with the person and their family, gathers the resources desired to put the plan into action. This is our strategy for success. After the plan is in place, our staff makes sure the plan stays on track. Should the consumer redefine their dreams, Independence Residences is right there to assist in reformulating the plan to meet the newly expressed goal.

Independence Residences Inc.'s "Strategies for Success," are more than just a list of names and numbers. Instead, the IRI Service Coordinator teaches each individual the art of self-advocacy, planting the seeds for obtaining the lifestyle desired on one's own. Teaching our program participants to advocate for themselves not only enhances their personal "Strategy for Success," but also fosters their self esteem.
